Drone

What is it?

A fully laser cuttable drone design controlled by an Arduino Mega. Its goal is to autonomously deliver small books to and from the Andover library.

What was the process?

I started with some crazy designs, but after a few attempts, I acknowledged the benefit of the conventional quadcopter design. I improved upon it by making a strong, fully-functional laser cuttable design. This makes the parts easy to replace, while not sacrificing quality.

What did I learn?

  • NN based Reinforcement Learning
  • More Arduino
    • RF24 Radio Transmitter/Receiver
    • Advanced circuit design
  • Laser Cutter

Results?

I flew the drone briefly, without any flight controls, and it took off. This means that my math was correct in the thrust/weight ratio. Next term, I am working in a partnership with the OWHL library to finish the flight controls of the drone.
