This is when I reached roadblock #1. I knew absolutely nothing. I had just gotten a laptop at that point(my dad's old dell), and I searched the inter-webs. I persisted, and learned a thing or two. Eventually, my dad got me Make's "Getting Started with Arduino" book, which turned out to be fairly useful. Inspired by that book, I decided to make an Arduino based 3d-printer. I got an arduino mega and a RAMPS board. I accumulated skills, learned just enough c++ and electrics, and soon had a near working design.
